We are a scientific organization in the field of in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula..
What are our objectives?
To create and consolidate a series of tools to facilitate cohesion among professionals in cohesion among professionals in the field of Sleep Surgeryin particular those residing in Latin American countries and the Iberian Peninsula.
To promote Sleep Surgery as a specialty that encompasses the different aspects of sleep disordered breathing, taking into account that sleep surgery is an important, but not the only tool in the treatment of Sleep Disorders of Breathing.
Mission
To be the organization that brings together the scientific and educational efforts produced in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula in Sleep Surgery, facilitating a collaborative environment in the inter-institutional and international environment among partners, and promoting scientific and educational production and dissemination in the specialty.
Vision
To be recognized as the teaching and production organization with the highest scientific authority in the field of sleep surgery in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula.

ASSOCIATED MEMBERS
Citizens of different nationalities who meet the following requirements may apply to become Associate Members of SIBECS: non- otolaryngology graduates or third year residents who are practicing otolaryngology and/or head and neck surgery, of any nationality, who can prove their work or dedication to the study, research or teaching of surgery or sleep disordered breathing.
Likewise, associate membership is open to all professionals in areas of medicine that directly or indirectly support the work of sleep surgery.
MEMBERS OF NUMBER
Physicians with a recognized specialty in Otorhinolaryngology in their country of residence, and who also have a high specialty, fellowship, master’s or subspecialty training in the field of sleep medicine and surgery; or at least one year of on-site rotation or work experience (after having obtained the title of otolaryngologist) certified in a program or center recognized by the SIBECS Council; presentation of scientific work associated with Sleep Medicine and/or attendance at SIBECS Congresses, may apply to become a SIBECS Full Member.
HONORARY MEMBERS
Honorary members will be those members who have made a notable contribution to the progress of sleep surgery in Ibero-America and are deserving of this distinction. The distinction of honorary member is considered the highest distinction awarded by the society. The respective qualification must be made unanimously by the board of directors and approved by majority vote at the assembly, and will be awarded at each Iberoamerican Congress to be held every 2 years.
EMERITUS MEMBERS
They are those members of SIBECS, both full and associate members, who have been active members for more than 25 years and are over 65 years of age, or those who, sustaining the first requirement, have some type of permanent disability regardless of age.
